Co-author: Judith Waite Allee

Judith Allee home educated two teenagers, one from kindergarten to age 16, and the other as a way to escape from sixth grade "special education" at school.

She and her husband own a home-based photography business that gives them opportunities to take their homeschool on the road. Judith's workshop, Homeschooling on a Shoestring, was presented in 1995 at the Clonlara Home-Based Education Conference, a national event.

At the 1996 conference Judith facilitated a discussion panel on the same topic, and she has given talks at local homeschool support groups.

She spoke on homeschooling for adoptive families at a tri-state adoption conference in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1994. A longtime child advocate, Judith has been active for over 20 years giving local workshops and talking to civic organizations.

Growing Without Schooling and The Mentor, two national homeschool publications, have published Judith's articles. Her writing has been published in national and local newsletters for adoptive parents.Judith publishes a web site at http://www.angelfire.com/on/shareddreams

Charter members of the National Homeschool Association, Judith, her husband, John, and their 16-year-old daughter are designated as a host family for traveling homeschoolers. The family has welcomed homeschool visitors from across the United States and has visited homeschoolers in twelve states. Judith is a member of Home Education League of Parents (HELP) of Greater Columbus.
